Diving since the turn of the previous century.
Originally from the landlocked town of Nelspruit in the Lowveld, Natascha got into diving in her mid twenties while living in Joburg. She always wanted to dive, and took to it easily and happily drove from Joburg to Ponta once a month to dive. Eventually the diving was interfering with work, so she had to make it work.
As soon as Natascha completed her instructor course in 2001 she gave up her graphic design career and packed her bags for a job on a little island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Her 9 years stint as an instructor overseas took her to the Maldives, Thailand, Indonesia (Bali, Bunaken & Lembeh Straits), Egypt, Philippines and Kenya. And Europe for a few months!
Upon returning to South Africa, she knew she needed to be by the sea, and Durban made sense. She walked in to Underwater World and was given the position immediately. 8 years later, and she's still Managing the shop, bringing her design in to the website, newsletters, tshirts and more.
Natascha's passion in photography both above and below the water. She loves eagle rays, nudibranchs, wrasse and other odd characters found on the reef. She has a great collection of Nudibranch books, so if you need help IDing one of them, contact her! She might help.
